Brandenburg Gate with the title "Tolle Make-up-Tipps für 10-Jährige" — Papagei German B1/B2 exam preparation

“Tolle Make-up-Tipps für 10-Jährige” is one of those Goethe B1 topics that looks simple on the surface but actually tests something quite specific: your ability to react to someone else’s opinion, agree or disagree with clear reasons, and keep your argument structured under time pressure.

This particular theme has appeared in real Goethe B1 Schreiben Teil 2 exams, which makes it a great candidate to study closely rather than skip past. Exam boards tend to recycle certain question types and everyday debates, so understanding how a strong answer is built here gives you a real advantage, not just for this exact topic, but for similar opinion-based prompts you might face on exam day.

Below, you’ll find the original writing task together with a complete model answer, so you can see exactly how a well-organized B1-level response comes together, from the opening reaction to the closing statement.

Here is the exam task and a model answer for this theme, presented exactly as you’d encounter it in the exam.

The Task (Teil 2) In the real exam, you read a short forum-style opinion from Sabrina Hofer and must react to it in writing — agreeing, disagreeing, or nuancing your view, with reasons.

Model Answer (reacting, agreeing with Sabrina Hofer)
