This notice explains which cookies and similar technologies we use on getpapagei.app, what they do, and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. It lets the site recognise your browser on a later visit — to remember a preference, keep you signed in, or count visitors. Some technologies work in a similar way without being cookies, such as local storage, which keeps a value in your browser until you clear it.

What we use on this website

Strictly necessary — no consent required

We store two values in your browser's local storage to make the site behave sensibly:

• pg-lang — remembers whether you chose the English or French version, so we don't override your choice on your next visit.
• pg-lang-checked — a session flag that stops the automatic language detection from running more than once per visit.

Neither identifies you. Both stay on your device and are never sent to us.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-RRCDRM5W6E) to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they read. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_<container-id>, which last up to two years and hold a randomly generated identifier for your browser — not your name or email.

We use this only in aggregate: how many visitors, which articles are read, which pages people leave from. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.

What we do not use

No advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels, no social-media tracking, no third-party ad networks. This website carries no advertising.

The Papagei mobile app

This notice covers the website only. The iOS and Android apps do not use browser cookies; they store data locally on your device and use the identifiers described in our Privacy Policy.

How to control cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge alike. Blocking the analytics cookies has no effect on how the site works for you.

To opt out of Google Analytics on every website you visit, you can install Google's browser add-on.

To clear the language preference, clear your browser's local storage for this site, or use the EN/FR switch to set it again.

Changes to this notice

If we add or remove a technology described here, we will update this page and the date at the top.
